About

Welcome to “The Pro Wrestling Reviews”, a blog where you’ll find reviews for professional wrestling, obviously.

I’m Chris Cummings, a writer and fan of pro-wrestling. I started my love affair with the bizarre world of wrestling in 1992 as a 9 year old British child after seeing a sticker album filled with images of these colourful and unusual looking people. I soon watched my first wrestling show, WrestleMania 8, and I was hooked. We are 22 years on from that and a lot has happened in my life and in the business of pro-wrestling.

ME

I’ve seen companies flourish, like WCW in 1996/97 and WWF in 1999-2001. I’ve seen companies go out of business, like WCW in 2001 and ECW in 2000. I’ve seen the best wrestlers in the world work through their prime years before retiring, such as Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart and Steve Austin, and I’ve seen some terrible workers come and go, but to name them all would take me another 22 years.

In 2014 there isn’t much to tickle your taste buds with in terms of variety in American wrestling. Other than WWE there isn’t any promotion making waves and turning heads currently. TNA try, and fail, and try again. ROH offer a small stage for some outstanding performers to begin their careers on. Really though, WWE stands shoulders above the rest. We are on the verge of a new era in pro-wrestling, with the likes of Daniel Bryan, The Shield, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt and other young, hungry and talented performers stepping up to help take the profession into the next decade. It’s an exciting time for fans of pure wrestling, seeing hard working and exciting workers like these being given opportunities after years of paying their dues.

Here, you’ll find reviews of new and old shows from WWE, WCW, ECW and perhaps other promotions. There will be reviews of RAW and from time to time, Smackdown, NXT and WWE Network content. Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoy what you read, and please come back again soon!
